A Jump Too High - continued....
Yes, she's still in a cast. A shorter one but still a cast...I guess you would call it a splint but it's pretty solid. She got an X-ray done on Saturday and the vet saw a line he didn't like so he wants her in the thing for one more week. She is doing great other than that. While at the vets office she was running wind sprint while we were waiting.

B11 - A Jump Too High
Switched the 12 new kids from the trailer into their own pen in the big barn this weekend. I was concerned when I found I had a few jumpers but didn't act on it. Yesterday morning I found that one of the kids was limping. It looked like she was putting weight on it so I I thought maybe she just twisted it when she jumped out. Later that night she was at an angle that I could see the leg better and I knew it was broke...off to the vet.
The vet and I tired many different splint pieces and finally came up with two splints that fit the leg pretty good. The splint pieces were covered with cotton placed together and wrapped with a couple rolls of tape.

She got to ride in the passenger seat there and back. She didn't move too much. She was pretty calm the whole time. She also got to stay in the house last night in a large dog crate. This morning she went back out to the barn and put in the pen all by herself. She has all the hay and grain she could possible eat. She is still on milk so she had to be bottle fed this morning. Hoping she stays put till I get home tonight!

GOOD NEWS!!
A pic of the perfectly placed anchors for one of my rotator cuffs. Therapy HAD been going great then I was having a lot of pain and my range of motion was getting worse, so I had an MRI this past Saturday to make sure it was still attached. Turns out, THANKFULLY, it is. The shoulder is just very inflamed. I got a shot in the top of my shoulder this morning to reduce the swelling so that PT can continue. Thank goodness, I would not have been able to get it operated on again for some time if it had come to that. I got KIDS on the way!!! : )
I just thought it was a cool picture!!
